6 m2 Inside Out: Stories of Artists and Their Spaces

2019, video installation

Bosnian photographer Milomir Kovačević Strašni once told Adisa Bašić that he lived and worked in a 6 m2 apartment when he was in exile in Paris: he took extraordinary photos there, thought always in small formats. Bašić recreated this 6 m2 room and asked different artists she admires how space influences their work. Their stories helped her to explore her own journey from the urban landscape of Sarajevo where she survived war to the healing power of nature in Herzegovina. Werner Düttmann’s building on Hanseatenweg provoked her to reflect on per meable borders between inside and outside, between nature and art.
