Elena Zieser is an audio artist who lives and works in Berlin. She studied media art at the Bauhaus University Weimar, with a focus on the Department of Experimental Radio and now works as an independent artist in the fields of radio drama and sound. Her work often combines recordings from interview or documentary material with written or fictionalized content to create new stories and contexts. She is interested in unique forms of sound reception, especially in public spaces and the theater, but also in museums and unconventional galleries. Hidden forms of communication and relationships between people are often central to her projects. In addition to directing, writing and producing radio plays and sound installations Zieser conducts seminars and workshops on sound design, production and audio editing. Her radio plays have been broadcast in Germany, Austria, Switzerlan, USA and Australia.
